On this weeks show my ROTW is ‘Keel Her’ by the lady of the same name KEEL HER, i’ll be playing three gorgeous songs from the album on the show and letting you hear exactly why Fire Records were bang on the money to sign her up.
I’ll also have that new feature to share with you the #shellshock a song that simply stopped me in my tracks when i first heard it, a kind of track of the week if you will. It was a tough call this week but an old school soul feeling from Cody ChestnuTT made any other decision frankly stoooopid..
There will be the usual accompaniment of new and emerging music as I spin some of the best new Alt releases from Beaty Heart, Novella, Sister, Superfood, The Bohicas, Connan Mockasin, Antlers and more. Love music? Don’t miss it..
A dark corner of Gullivers venue in Manchester played host to my third interview with Will Doyle recently. The first time we chatted was on my birthday about 3 or 4 years ago when he fronted indie pop band Doyle and the Forefathers. Now striking out in a solo electronic guise as East India Youth he has garnered support from the likes of The Quietus who launched their own label to release his debut EP before being signed to Stolen Recordings and touring with the likes of Factory Floor. His debut full length hit the shelves recently and he joins me to talk about the chalet party at ATP that got shut down, the album artwork and invariably, that album title..
Speaking of which hear a little taster of that HERE
John Freeman from the The Quietus is tipping this week and on the bandstand this week Sheffield band High Hazels who announced a new EP this week, so keep em peeled eh?!
With the the usual assortment of brand new emerging artists as always, a must listen!
