Hello! I’m backkkkkkkk. They let me out of Alcatraz! (you can literally hear this on todays show) and i’m back in the UK after 2.5 weeks of musical adventure across the states. I’ve got stories, new bands and i’ve got MUSIC for you brought back in my suitcase of sounds ready to share with you!

Oh hiiii, it’s friday and tomorrow it’s Recordstore Day AND the day I get on a flight to NYC and miss buying that Tame Impala debut EP on vinyl that I desperately want… *cries*
On the upside I get to spend 2.5 weeks in the U S of A, Firstly in New York where Frankie Rose has offered to give me her tour of Brooklyn, then to Austin where i’m meeting up with Love Inks and Feathers for hangs as well as heading to Austin Psychfest! Then onto San Francisco where I’m going to see the sights, not get locked up in Alcatraz and head for hangs with Papa Slumber from Slumberland Records, oh and then via a flight booking mishap i’ll be hanging in Philadelphia for 13 hours where i’m going to attempt to crawl up the ‘Rocky’ steps. Hopefully there will be many tales to be told! However, in the meantime that means I won’t be answering emails, coming to gigs or social networking more than holiday snaps.
HOWEVER, before I head off I’ve put together three ace radio shows for you. The first:

I’ll also be joined by Natalie Findlay who joins us on the bandstand this week to tell us about a raft of cool bands she’s been getting giddy over lately.

Well I’ve been on holiday for nearly two weeks by this point and to be honest I’m sure I’m loving every second. But theres a nagging dull ache deep in my soul and you know what it is? I MISS MANCHESTER. I miss the warm northern personalities, a nice warm cup of tea and the rain.. well maybe I was lying about the latter!
But I am missing the music. Not one week goes by without seeing a fresh talented new act on the streets of fair Manchester and as such i’m going to take this opportunity to get a little homesick and play some of the freshest sounds from the north west from the last few months in one jam packed show..
Findlay will join me in conversation, Egyptian Hip Hop will tip a north west artist on the bandstand and Von Pip also keeps things northern in his own special way..

It’s not very often you meet someone who grew up in the same postcode prefix as you and I was fortunate enough to get to hang with Lucy Rose before Christmas.
